More on Sections and Collections
Sections and collections can be customized and moved to fit your Shop needs.
One way to set up a section is by making it a “Closet” section. Adding a closet to your shop is a great way to showcase your tried and true favorite apparel and accessories, curate seasonal lists, and share things you have your eye on.
To create your shoppable closet, simply create a new Section as normal and select “closet”.
When a section is hidden, it doesn’t appear to the public on your main shop page. All collections in a hidden section will be hidden from the public as well.
You can hide a section by clicking the pencil icon next to the section title and selecting “Hidden” under “Visible to shoppers”.
To move collections and posts to different Shop Sections, navigate to the desired collection, click “…” and then Change Section. Select which Shop Section you want it to nest under.
You can also change the order your collections appear under your section by dragging it to the desired location
You can adjust the way the products in a collection are displayed in the collections “Settings and Sharing”.
The different layouts are shown below:
Note: the Simple and Gallery Layouts will look the same on desktop, but are displayed as shown above on mobile.
Hiding a collection makes a collection visible only to people who have that URL. Hiding a collection can be useful for preparing a collection in advance of publication of corresponding content like a YouTube video or Instagram post. If a collection is hidden, it doesn’t appear to the public on your main shop page.
You can Hide your collection from your main shop page by clicking the three dots in the bottom right corner of that collection and selecting “Hide Collection”. In the
You can also hide a collection by going into that collection and selecting “settings and links”. Under “collection visibility”, select “hidden”.
You can always change a hidden collection to be visible when you’re ready to show it off
Archiving is similar to hiding because the collection is visible only to people who have that URL. However, archived collections are organized under your “Archive” tab on your main shop page.
Archiving is useful for retiring collections that may become stale, but have the potential to be used later.
For example, let's say you made a collection for your Sephora sale picks. If after the sale is over, you no longer want to display that on your page, but you may use it again when the next Sephora sale goes live, you can archive it so it is no longer visible, but it is still saved.
