There are many factors that impact your score and Creator Tier on ShopMy. Below, we’ve outlined tangible steps you can take to impact your score and get the most out of the platform.
Complete your Profile
The easiest way to impact your creator score is by completing your profile
10 points can be achieved by completing these basic setup steps:
- Add Profile Photo
- Add Bio
- Create And Share Your First Link
- Add a Collection (a themed group of links)
- Connect at least one Social Media Account
- Connecting Social Media Accounts increases visibility among brands; when you mention or tag a brand partner on social, they can see this on ShopMy.
- Learn more about connecting socials here
Stay Active
Consistency is a very important factor when it’s comes to gaining points and climbing the Creator Tiers. As a creator is posting content on socials, we recommend in tandem sharing links to the products they’re speaking about, creating collections around questions they’re being asked and/or building shoppable posts.
Creating Links
There are a number of things you can do to make adding links as easy as possible
- Install Snapshop
- Our Snapshop browser extension lets you easily create links and add to your collections without having to leave a retailer’s website. It works on any e-commerce product page and offers commission rates with over 50k ShopMy retailer partners
- Download the mobile app
- Remembering to create links is easier when you do so on-the-go
- The app allows for creators to quickly copy links they’ve previously created to share on socials.
- Be sure to download the ShopMy app (currently available only on iOS)
Drive Traffic and Volume
Brands want to make sure you drive clicks to their products on a consistent basis. Below, we’ve listed tangible recommendations for driving traffic and volume for each social platform:
Instagram is often where creators drive most traffic, due to its multiple linking options.
- Sharing to Instagram Story
- This is the simplest way to drive traffic. Whenever you share an Instagram story, always remember that this is an opportunity to add links to items that are in the story - whether it be dress you are wearing or the lipstick you are using
- You can also share new ShopMy collections you have made and even individual ShopMy products. Just take a screenshot and add the link
- Remember always to add a compelling caption for why you liked the item
Tip: Once your Instagram is connected, you can create a shelve that allows you to pull into your ShopMy page any Instagram post you have made. You can then easily reshare these posts to your Instagram story using ShopMy’s share feature and add the relevant links (see an example here)
- Sharing via Broadcast Channels
- ShopMy’s top creators are leveraging broadcast channels to drive traffic
- We recommend sharing in your broadcast channel any time you’ve created a new collection, so your followers can see a range of products you have added
- Adding your ShopMy link in bio
- This is an easy win. Let your audience passively find your product recommendations by adding your ShopMy link in your bio
- If you don’t want ShopMy to be the only link in your bio, use a service like KOMI
YouTube
YouTube is another great platform for driving traffic. There are a number of strategies you can leverage:
- Mentioning in your video to find the links to your products in your video description
- It’s easy to assume that your audience will know where to find your shoppable links.
- But the best thing to do is to remind them in your videos.
- Adding all the links in your video description using ShopMy’s copy multiple links feature
- Once your YouTube is connected, you can create a shelve that allows you to pull into your ShopMy page any YouTube videos you have made.
- You can then create Collections per video for any of the products you discussed in a particular video (see an example here)
- Once your links have been added, in your Collection, navigate to ‘Settings & Sharing’ > ‘For YouTube’ > ‘Sharing on Social’ > ‘Link to All Products - Compact’ and click ‘Copy’
- Paste all the links to your YouTube video’s description
- Adding the link to your ShopMy page in the video description
- You can also add your ShopMy page’s link to each video you post
- You never know what other items your audience may be interested in, outside of those you’ve linked in the video.
- Pin your best-performing link in the video’s comments section
- If you notice one particular link related to the video is performing well, pin it as your top comment
- Add ShopMy links to older videos
- If you have older videos that are still earning views, add affiliate links to these descriptions! Many YouTubers earn substantial income from older, popular videos that still drive traffic to the items they’ve linked.
Newsletters
Newsletter writers are driving some of the highest traffic on ShopMy, using a combination of tactics:
- Adding Affiliate Links Above the Paywall
- Instead of just adding the affiliate links to your products when you talk about them in the newsletter, add a grouping of all the affiliate links mentioned in the post in a section at the top that is above the paywall
- The best way to do this is to create a ‘hidden’ Collection on ShopMy per newsletter post where you add all the items referenced
- Once your links have been added, in your Collection, navigate to ‘Settings & Sharing’ > ‘For YouTube’ > ‘Sharing on Social’ > ‘Link to All Products - Compact’ and click ‘Copy’
- Paste all the links to to the top of your Newsletter in the allocated section.
- Leveraging Free Posts
- Make link-heavy posts available to all subscribers to drive broader reach
- If you’re new to newsletter writing, consider making all posts free for your first few months post-launch. This will allow you to maximize affiliate income as you grow your audience.
- Make Links Easily Accessible
- If you are adding photos about items, put the links right under the image
- Every time you talk about an item, hyperlink the affiliate link, not just the first time
TikTok
TikTok is more restrictive with its link sharing options than other social platforms, but there are still ways to link to your shop and recommendations.
- Link your ShopMy in your bio.
- You can leave the link to your ShopMy page in your TikTok bio, either as a direct link or using a service like KOMI
- Temporarily Link to ShopMy Collection or Product in bio
- Have you made a video that talks about a product or a range of products?
- If so, temporarily link to the product or Collection in your TikTok bio and mention so in the video
- TikTok videos can go more viral than other platforms, so this is a great way to drive traffic
- Utilizing ShopMy discount Codes
- Discount Codes extended through ShopMy are link-less and cookie-less, meaning a customer can use the code without a commissionable link and the creator will still be credited for that sale.
