Tax Information
If you’ve earned income through ShopMy, your 1099 tax form is issued by the payment platform you selected for payouts, either PayPal or Stripe. ShopMy does not generate or distribute 1099 forms directly.
PayPal Payouts
If you receive your ShopMy payouts through PayPal, any applicable tax forms (such as a 1099-K) will be issued directly by PayPal, since they are the payment processor responsible for sending funds to you.
Whether or not a 1099-K is generated depends on IRS reporting thresholds. For the 2025 tax year, PayPal will issue a Form 1099-K if your account meets both of the following requirements:
- More than $20,000 in payments for goods or services
- More than 200 transactions within the calendar year
- Refers to individual commission transactions (i.e., each earning), not the number of payout events.
If one of these thresholds is not met, PayPal will not generate a 1099-K, even if you earned income through the platform.
To access your PayPal tax documents:
- Log in to your PayPal account
- Go to Activity → Statements → Tax Documents
- Download your 1099-K if one was issued
If you believe a form should have been generated or have questions about your PayPal tax documents, please contact PayPal Support directly.
Stripe Payouts
If you receive your payouts through Stripe, your 1099 form will be issued through Track1099 on Stripe’s behalf.
If you qualify to receive a 1099, you should receive an email from Track1099 requesting that you complete your tax information before the form is issued.
