A few things can affect the final commission amount on a purchase — here's what to look out for.
Item Exclusions
Some retailers exclude certain items, collections, or categories from earning commission entirely. This is especially common during sale periods — sale items are not commissionable at many retailers.
If an excluded item is part of a larger order, the total commission you earn may look lower than you'd expect based on the full order value.
⚠️ It's not possible to list every exclusion in the platform, but we work to provide an accurate average rate to set expectations.
Some retailers known to typically exclude sale items include:
- Shopbop
- Lululemon
- Skims
- Alo Yoga (discount codes are also excluded)
Average Commission Rates
Many retailers use tiered commission structures that vary based on factors like product type, cart size, or whether the customer is new or returning. Because individual rates can't be displayed for every scenario, the rate shown is an average — a helpful reference for what you can typically expect.
Full-Cart Commission
Your audience may not always buy the exact item you linked to. Since many retailers offer full-cart commission, you'll earn on eligible items from their overall purchase — but excluded items in that cart won't count, which can create a gap between expected and actual earnings.
💡 Tip: Look for the "i" icon next to a retailer's commission rate to review any known exclusions or special terms before you promote.
